Planning a Summer Capsule Wardrobe with My Custom Croquis, by Jaylyn

Today I’m sharing some sneak peaks at what is in my sewing queue and how I’ve determined what I’m going to sew using the MyBodyModel App! I love the 8-models-per-page layout for long term planning because it really helps me visualize the patterns together to see if I’m liking the direction my sewing plans are going.

My upcoming sewing plans are all designed to continue “filling in the gaps” that I discovered in my wardrobe during #memademay. This set is designed to be a bit of a capsule wardrobe for daily wear, church clothes, and a few date night outfits for the coming months.

So, let’s have a look at what’s to come…

This capsule didn’t magically come together on the first drawing. I started with list of 23 patterns and I drew them all out and then narrowed them down by ones that I thought looked the best, that I already had fabric in my stash for, and that I could make several outfits with each pattern to make the capsule go farther.

Being able to plan this way is exactly what I love about having a custom croquis! Instead of just writing a list of patterns, sewing them all up and hoping it turns out well, I can see what my collection looks like together. I can see how the patterns will look on me, what pieces can pair well together, and even plan out fabrics so that everything will coordinate to make a cohesive wardrobe!

What’s in your sewing queue? Do you just plan one make at a time or do you like to make some type of “collection”?
